Money and Politics

“To Save A Nation.” - What will it take? Pt. 11

Aug 19, 2022

If you think “One Man, One Vote” rules the election day, well, I think you do not know what you are talking about. I say it humbly, because it’s been difficult for me to accept, also. But the fact remains that you and I are conveniently kept in the dark about the true issues of each candidate by a convenient manipulation of the media and the other sources of information that you and I must rely on simply because there are few other choices. In today's media sources, there isn’t one that I know of that presents only the honest facts and leaves it to the reader or the hearer to make his or her own conclusions. Naturally, the inquisitive mind wants to know why this is so.

Why are there no sources of honest facts (unbiased) in today's media?

The answer to that question is too simple. There is too much money in too few pockets.

More and more we see that the economic disparity between the rich and poor grows and grows. Much of that is not between the rich and poor, as in people, but major corporations, both foreign and domestic. I was always under the impression that foreign corporations and foreigners in general were not allowed to participate in or contribute to our politics at all. So much for dumb me. Yes, there are laws on the books to that effect, but apparently ignored by those we trusted to be honest and trustworthy. Every source I researched says that millions and billions of dollars flood to our elections every year from foreign countries. And you know why foreign countries are interested in our elections. And then there are foreign corporations, such as Alphabet for example, that appear to be an American corporation which is actually, for all intent and purposes, a Chinese corp.

Just for fun, or for horror, let me give you a list of a few corporations that are strongly familiar that somehow breached the legal limit of political contributions.

Alphabet Total contribution: $21 million, Microsoft Total contribution: $17 million

Amazon Total contribution: $8.9 million, Facebook Total contribution: $6 million

Apple Total contribution: $5.7 million, Netflix Total contribution: $5.42 million

Twitter Total contribution: $689,000.

This is just to give you an idea of how far politics has moved over the years from the American voter. And believe me, I’m not suggesting that you shouldn’t vote or that your vote doesn’t count, or that you shouldn’t bother with politics. I’m just saying that we should continue to fight to get our country back to where it represents you and me and not just the will of the money, or those who have untold wealth.

How do we do this seemingly impossible thing? Demand and insure that all elections are fair and honest. Resist being a sucker when big money floods the media for one particular candidate. Scream and holler to let the others know when improprieties take place such as cover-ups of illegal political fundraising. And this list could go on and on.

But above all, remember this, God will once again bless our Nation when we once again give him the Glory for blessing it. No, nothing that you and I have said or have done in the past or even how politically correct we’ve been, will change that. Curious how far we’ve drifted away from the truth when it’s always been right before our eyes, and how we’ve let it happen. This is why I say that “One Man, One Vote” is not what it seems. Yes we vote, but it’s the not always honest media that influences how we vote.
